The University of Richmond
Founded in 1830, the University of Richmond provides a collaborative learning and research environment, offering students an extraordinary combination of the liberal arts with law, business, leadership studies, and continuing education.
It has been ranked #12 nationally among undergraduate business programs by BusinessWeek and #27 on the list of best liberal arts colleges in the nation by U.S. News & World Reports. Since 2005, University of Richmond students have been recipients of the Rhodes, Marshall, Goldwater, Clarendon, Truman, and Fullbright scholarships, among many others.
Among many unique assets, the University of Richmond's Modlin Center for the Arts features state-of-the-art performance venues, galleries, studios and classrooms. They present more than 40 world-class performing arts events each year as part of the ModlinArts Presents Series, five productions presented by the Department of Theatre and Dance and the University Players and Dancers, and another 23 music performances as part of the Department of Music's annual free concert series.
The Kip Kephart Foundation enthusiastically supports the University of Richmond's Performing Arts programs and funds the annual Bobby Chandler Award in Music, a cash grant given each year to an outstanding music major.
Three on-campus museums, the Joel and Lila Harnett Museum of Art, the Joel and Lila Harnett Print Studio, and the Lora Robins Gallery of Design from Nature, feature outstanding collections and exhibitions, and offer rare opportunities for professors and students to integrate museum learning into the classroom setting. The Kip Kephart Foundation makes a strong contribution to the University's permanent collections through its funding of the Bobby Chandler Award in Art. This cash purchase award, given each year to an outstanding art major, is intended to benefit the student as well as enable the University to continue to add to its ongoing permanent collections.
